Capt. Menezes has been an Expert Witness for maritime cases since 1992, and a practicing Maritime Arbitrator and Mediator since 2013. His areas of arbitration cover a representative cross-section of maritime claims. His mediation practices have involved casualties on the West Coast of India and expert witness assignments include both national and international clients.
Besides being a Master Mariner, he obtained his LLM and PG Diploma in Maritime Law from London Metropolitan University, his Law degree from Man galore University and is a Humanities Graduate from Osmania University. Until 2022 was an Executive Board Member/Trustee at the Nautical Institute headquartered in London and a member of Coastal Vision Group formed by the Government of Karnataka. Currently, he serves as Executive Committee Member to Society of Consulting Marine Engineers and Ship Surveyors, London and as Director/Treasurer, Mission to Seafarers Association of India, Mumbai. He is also the Vice-Chairman of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers' East India Branch in Chennai, as well as the Secretary of the Nautical Institute India South West Branch in Kochi.
